JANUARY 27-29, 1998 BLE Secretary-Treasurer Training Class. Held
at the Tropicana Hotel in Las Vegas, Nev. During this two day session, Tax
Administrator Elaine Reese from the BLE International Office in Cleveland
will instruct Secretary-Treasurers on proper bookkeeping, record-keeping,
dues handling, filing of taxes and division-level compliance with various
Department of Labor and Internal Revenue Service regulations. For further

MAY 26-30 BLE-GIA International Western Convention. The desert
Southwest of Tucson, Ariz. will be home for the 1998 IWC. The convention
will be held at the Westward Look Resort, located at 245 East Ina Road in
Tucson. More details to come when available. IWC Chairman Ken Kroeger encourages

JUNE 14-18 BLE-GIA Southeastern Meeting Association. Held at the
Drawbridge Inn in Ft. Mitchell, Ky, just a few miles south of Cincinnati,
Ohio. SMA Chairman Jerry L. Wyatt announced possible convention activities
may include a trip to Kings Island amusement park, a Cincinnati Reds baseball
game, the Cincinnati Zoo, thoroughbred racing and riverboat dining. For

JULY 30-AUGUST 2 BLE-GIA Eastern Union Meeting Association. Arrangements
Chairman Mike O'Bryan welcomes everyone to Boston, "the birthplace
of the revolution" and home of Bunker Hill and Paul Revere's ride.
A golf tournament is tentatively scheduled, and prizes are reserved for

AUGUST 18-21 BLE-GIA Southwestern Convention Meeting. San Antonio,
Texas will play host to the 1998 SWCM. Chairman Bob Bitterman said the Hilton
Palacio del Rio hotel is within walking distance of the historic Alamo,
and the Hard Rock Cafe and Planet Hollywood restaurants. Registration information
will be handled by Regional Secretary-Treasurer Jim Keele, and preregistration
packets won't be available until late spring/early summer of 1998. In addition,
on-site registration will be available.
