NJ commuter train misses major station

(The Associated Press circulated the following on November 10, 2009.)

WEST WINDSOR, N.J. — NJ Transit is investigating why a commuter train overshot one of the state's major park-and-ride stations.

NJ Transit says Train 3971, heading from New York to Trenton on Monday evening zipped past its scheduled 7 p.m. stop at Princeton Junction. The train didn't stop until the next station in Hamilton Township.

Passengers on the Northeast Corridor had to wait for the next northbound train to get back to Princeton Junction. They didn't return to the station until about 8 p.m.
