... and give workers a chance in key races

In its identification of key races for this election, the AFL-CIO has focused its attention on the Democratic Party regaining the House of Representatives.

There are nine open seats formerly held by Republicans that the AFL-CIO sees as vulnerable. There are 15 races with Republican incumbents that the AFL-CIO has identified as high profile and 15 more that it has decided to watch carefully because these races could be key to retaking the House.

These races, along with contentious races involving Democratic incumbents and open seats, will be the focus of the grassroots effort undertaken by the AFL-CIO.
