Winkler wins 15th annual BLE Brass Bell Award Karl Winkler of Tucson, Ariz., won the BLE's Brass Bell Award for locomotive modeling excellence at the National Model Railroad Association's annual National Convention.

Executive Committee in the President's Office in Cleveland, Ohio. International President Don M. Hahs, seated right, is the 20th International President in the 138-year history of the BLE. First Vice-President & Alternate President Ed Rodzwicz is seated at left and standing is General Secretary-Treasurer William C. Walpert. All were elected at the BLE's Seventh Quinquennial Convention in Miami Beach, Fla., from Sept. 24-28, 2001.

A full-slate of Brotherhood business - amending and updating the BLE's governing document, the Constitution & Bylaws - kept delegates in session from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day, while regional caucusses and candidate campaigning kept them busy at night.
