Convention 2001
The Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers held its Seventh Quinquennial International Convention at the Fontainebleau Hilton Hotel in Miami Beach, Fla., from September 24-29, 2001. This issue provides a brief recap of events, an introduction of new officers and an explanation of changes made by delegates to the Constitution & Bylaws. A full-slate of Brotherhood business - amending and updating the BLE's governing document, the Constitution & Bylaws - kept delegates in session from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day, while regional caucusses and candidate campaigning kept them busy at night.
