Changes at the GIA

New officers move up to fill vacancies

With the resignation of Jewell Graben from her position of International Vice President/Editor in September, many changes have occurred in the GIA.

Onita Wayland is now the Vice President/Editor. Onita has served the GIA as International 1st Vice President and is looking forward to her new position. Working with Onita, as Editing Assistant and Publisher, will be Sereena Hogan, who organized the Guadalupe Auxiliary 28 in Tucson, Ariz., in March 1998. She now serves as secretary to that auxiliary. Sereena is pleased to be working with Sister Wayland and the GIA will benefit from her experience in journalism and publishing.

International 2nd Vice President/Legislative Representative Mabel Grotzinger has assumed the position of International 1st Vice President. Mabel has done an excellent job as the GIA Legislative Representative.

In order to ensure an easy transition, GIA President Ruth Windham has asked Mabel to assist the newly appointed 2nd Vice President/Legislative Representative, Becky B. Schneider, as she learns the duties of the position. Schneider's appointment was approved by the GIA Executive Council. Schneider is currently the secretary-treasurer of Auxiliary 591 in El Paso, Tex.

GIA President Windham is confident that these individuals will do well in their new positions.

"With talented, dedicated officers such as these, we will no doubt fulfill our agenda to grow-inform-achieve," said Windham.
